Day 11

Today my friends and I traveled to see the Pompeii ruins. This trip took all day because there was so much to see and we still didn't get to see everything.

Pompeii Ruins

It was a short train ride up to Pompeii from Naples. We spent the whole day walking around and looking at the city and what was left. There were a few exhibits showing old pottery, bodies that were found and preserved, fountains, and more. It was amazing and sad at the same time to see everything.

I couldn't help but to sing the song Pompeii while being there and while saying the words and being literally in Pompeii, it made a lot more sense. My show choir sang this song my sophomore year of high school so I decided to dance a little part of it while a friend recorded it and I sent it to my director. He thought it was pretty cool and was quite amazed I still remembered the routine. Be sure to check out the pictures from Pompeii in the slideshow below!

After we got back from Pompeii, we had dinner and then took the Gondola up to the top of Naples where a castle is. From there, you could see the whole view of the city. It was all lit up and very beautiful. A ton of people were up there enjoying the view with friends or loved ones singing songs and dancing. It was a very warming feeling. People in Italy truly due enjoy life and live in the moment and that is something I will miss.

TMI ALRET: For some reason, all 6 of us needed to poop when walking back to our apartment. But... our airbnb we rented only had 1 bathroom. Therefore, our bathroom smelt pretty bad by the end of the night hahaha

Note to self: get an airbnb with more than one bathroom when staying with 6 people for bowel movement purposes. :-)
