About The Trip

Hello!

I am currently studying abroad in Rome, Italy for a Disciplinary Literacy study offered by Iowa State! 13 of us elementary education students were chosen to participate in this 3 week opportunity. We are creating a unit plan including multiple lesson plans over a specific topic and then relating it back to Rome in any way we choose.

My unit is for Kindergarten students learning to pick out key details and main ideas in a story! While being in Rome, I will try to discover at least 2 children's books about Rome as well as a video to implement in my lessons. From my lessons and these resources, my students will be asked to create an assignment about Rome, showing they understand key details and main ideas.

Everyday, our group has exciting adventures ahead of us and I cannot wait to embark on all of them! Nights and weekends are ours to travel and do whatever we desire. I will be taking pictures, notes, and creating memories throughout the trip and will do my best to keep all of you updated!
