After Landing

After we landed and got settled into our apartment, we did a little bit of exploring around the area!

It rained all day today. And on top of that, our apartment is about a 30-45 minute walk to the ISU facility. That being said, I wore a cute outfit for nothing because I had my raincoat on the whole time while holding an umbrella that I bought for 5 euros. My roommates and I ventured off into the rain, hoping google maps was taking us the right way.

Note to self: when it's raining, don't wear long pants. Shorts or a dress is easier. Wet clothes are heavy and stinky.

A few sketchy alleyways later, we made it! We walk in and everyone looks and smells like wet dogs. There were 2 other groups there from Iowa State as well. We had a little reception with cheese, crackers, fruit, and champagne. The facility is beautiful!

After the reception, a group of us decided to get some food. We stopped at a little restaurant and got some pasta which put me in a food coma. But of course, there is always room for gelato! :)
